Bio: I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. After graduating from high school, I attended the University of Utah for a year before going on a mission (Southwest Indian; Navaho speaking). After returning home from my mission, I returned to the University of Utah before transferring to Utah State University. While living in Logan, Utah, I met and married Tina Rigby. We have three children. I taught for Church Education (Seminary and Institute for twenty years), and have been at BYU full time since 1998. I have a B.S., M.Ed. and Ph.D. My teaching career has allowed me to live in the Southwest United States, Western Canada, the Middle East, and various places in Utah.
